A five star Platter awarded wine like this only comes along every so often. Notes of wildflowers, vanilla and sweet plums, with sweet spice on the nose.
This wine works well with a hefty roast beef or rack of lamb.
The vineyards were specially selected for its unique terroir in the Darling area. The grapes were handpicked and fermented in stainless steel tanks for ten days. Cold soaking for three days prior to fermentation and three days post maturation followed, on the skins. The wine was aged in French oak barrels for 42 months and lightly filtered before bottling.
Well concentrated with a deep red colour and notes of wildflowers, vanilla and sweet plums. The palate is juicy, rich and velvety with subtle undertones of sweet spice and plums, which finishes with hints of dark chocolate.
This wine would be great to enjoy now but could be enjoyed up to 10 years from vintage.
