The grapes are sourced from vineyards in the Stellenbosch area. The fruit was handpicked at its full ripeness in the third week of February 2010 and fermented in 300-litre French oak barrels. The wine was kept on the primary lees for eight months batonage, whereafter it was racked from primary lees and returned to the same 300-litre French oak barrels, where it was aged for another 28 months (80% barrels were first fill and 20% were second fill). Barrel selection was done in order to select only the best barrels. The wine was lightly filtered before bottling.
The nose shows fresh peaches and apricots complemented by aromas of floral honeysuckle and freshened by undertones of lime. The entry to the pallet is full with a creamy texture. The mid pallet is broad and freshened by a limey acidity.
To be enjoyed now with the potential to mature for another eight years.
